We met Elena Sandor, the sophisticated founder of www.eatweartravel.com to discover how her food blog evolved into a lifestyle one. We also talked about style icons, daily essentials and fashion mistakes to not repeat again!
Tell us what made you take the decision to start your blog.
11 years ago I started cooking and it was more of a challenge since I was really bad at it. I documented my recipes on a blog and it became my passion. 5 years ago I expanded my blog into lifestyle, travel, fashion and today it’s become my full time job.
What’s the most rewarding and the most challenging aspect of being a fashion blogger?
The most rewarding thing about being a blogger is I get to travel and discover amazing places and new people. The most challenging is I can’t actually take a break, I need to constantly create content and be socially present which is tiring at times.
What piece of advice could you give to someone who is about to start her/his own blog?
Discover your passion, invest time money and a lot of sweat. Be prepared to grow slowly and bravely face all difficulties. Be unique.
What’s the best compliment you got from a follower?
I like it when my followers try products or visit places I recommend and they have good experiences after. Recommending my lifestyle to people around me is an amazing thing!
How would you define your style?
Minimalist, feminine, and fun.
Who is your style icon?
I really love Olivia Palermo.
What are your daily essentials in your bag?
I can’t live my house without my phone, powerbank, credit card, lipstick, sunnies and hand cream.
And when you travel?
When I travel I need to have at least two outfits for each day, my makeup essentials, hair tools, and laptop.
What would you throw in your bag if your house caught fire?
Definitely my laptop and hard drive.
Your tip to perfectly style a colorful bag.
Keep the rest of the outfit as minimalist as possible.
What’s the aspect a bag should never lack to convince you to buy?
The leather/fabric needs to look and be qualitative and the style needs to be timeless. I tend to wear small bags so nothing too big would check my list.
If you could only have one bag in your closet, which would it be? A mini bag, a satchel bag, a tote bag or a bucket bag?
Definitely a mini bag. I don’t need a lot of things when I travel so I can spare the size if the bag is beautiful!
What’s the most stupid thing you ever did in your life?
I have spent way too much money on fast fashion when I could’ve just invested in timeless pieces.
Do you regret it or would you do it again?
I wouldn’t do it again, although you do learn from mistakes.
